No. 5

no talk about black and white in the world of fashion will be complete without a discussion on Chanel. so all material and posts today are my little tributes and offerings to Coco Chanel.

here are the three things one must know about Chanel...

1) the perfume

liquid gold, No.5 de Chanel
No. 5 de Chanel, or Chanel No.5, is the scent that would epitomize the boyish, modern flapper that would speak to the liberated spirit of the 1920s. all i can say about this scent is, once you have been hugged by someone wearing No.5... you have been HUGGED!!! you will smell like No.5... this is one perfume that everyone should try at least once... by the way, a bottle of Chanel No.5 is sold every thirty seconds.

2) the little black dress

the LBD on American Vogue in 1926

since i ran a post on the LBD... i shan't repeat myself but thank you Coco Chanel for the little black dress...

3) the Chanel suit

ladies in the Chanel suit

The influential Chanel suit, launched in 1923, was an elegant suit comprising a knee-length skirt and trim, boxy jacket, traditionally made of woven wool with black trim and gold buttons and worn with large costume-pearl necklaces.
