regardless of language

do you know that singapore's national language is not english but malay? of course it now carries a more symbolic value but it is still a piece of knowledge that should not be neglected. other than language, a fashion piece that singaporeans have long associated with the malay community is the sarong.
how to tie a sarong
fun ways to wear a sarong
the closest i have come to wearing a sarong is me wrapping a towel around myself after the shower... takes a whole lot of skill to roll the cloth correctly so that it doesn't slide off or ride down.
David Beckham in a sarong
personally, i think the sarong has been underrated. this is one piece of fashion that is functional and non-gender bias. will i trend it in this week's @dd it? you have to wait and see... one thing is certain though... to trend the sarong, i will first need to perfect the art of putting AND keeping it on... the idea of the sarong dropping off midday is not exactly appealing...

a nice touch to beach fashion
more sarongs for the beach
fash'on... BAM!
