the numbers game

according to dictionary.com,

numbers: a numeral or group of numerals

game: (1) an amusement or pastime; diversion (2) wild animals, including birds and fish, hunted for sport, food or profit

in this post, we shall explore just that. however, to not pass judgement on either side, the sources of information will be via a link.

this site states:

1) fur trade comprises hunting communities, many small farms and family businesses, craftsmen and women, manufacturers, dressing companies, designers and retailers. worldwide retail turnover in 2008 was just over us 13 billion dollars

1) down is the very soft feathers from the breasts of geese and ducks. the harvesting of feathers from live geese is seen as an important incomes from those geese being bred for meat or fatty liver (foie gras) production. the yield of feathers and down from each plucking amounts to between 80 to 120 grams.
